Vhembe Drone Accelerator Programme

To all Vhembe and Mopani Business and Economic Development Stakeholders,

The Vhembe TVET College will be launching its very first Drone Accelerator Programme in collaboration with SEDA and Mzansi Aerospace Technologies. This 20-week Programme is target at established start-up and SMMEs that have been in business for at least 2 years and that wish to integrate drone technology in the following sectors:

 

Mining;
Agriculture;
Tourism, Filming, Photography and Conservation;
Security, Public Safety and Border Control;
Infrastructure Asset Management and the Built Environment.

 

A Call for Applications was issued last week for these start-ups and SMMEs to apply by filling in the form on this link: https://mzansiaero.tech/vhembe-drone-accelerator-programme/ . Closing date is June 12, 2020 and the programme will start in early July 2020. As an important stakeholder of this Programme, we now wish to invite you to a virtual Stakeholder Briefing to held as follows:

Mzansi has conceptualised the Drone Build-A-Thon event series that is aimed at creating awareness of the drone industry in the townships. These events are hosted in collaboration with township-based campuses of universities and TVET colleges. At these events a group of students are trained on building and flying drones. The event also incorporates a mini-seminar and a drone demonstration.
